NextGen Rochester Member Highlight: Andrew Brady
July 5, 2016
Andrew grew up in Irondequoit but between college and his first job, was out of town for 6 years before returning in 2012. When he moved back, he knew he wanted to get involved in the community and wanted to be able to meet like-minded peers who were as passionate about Rochester as he was. Andrew joined NextGen without knowing a single member, but upon attending his first event he immediately felt welcomed into the community and was hooked! After steadily increasing his involvement, he joined the Advisory Board in 2014.When asked about the best part of his involvement with NextGen, Andrew is quick to talk about how energizing it is to learn about different non-profits in town and also the people behind them, not only through regular educational events, but especially at the annual meeting. He says that the annual meeting is one of his favorite days of the year and that it’s impossible not to walk away from it inspired by all of the community-changers dedicating themselves to making Rochester better every day, not to mention knowing that your involvement in NextGen is helping them to realize their visions!
During the day, Andrew is a leadership development coach that helps leaders to create engaging corporate cultures. Whenever possible, he uses these professional skills to impact the community through his involvement in Conscious Capitalism ROC and the Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation, while also following his passion for education by volunteering with Junior Achievement and as a Big Brother. When he (occasionally) has free time, he loves to travel and to go on adventures with his American Eskimo, Sawyer.
